This week has just begun, but it already feels really busy and moving quickly. I have to say, though, working alongside someone you get along with really well and never run out of things to talk about with makes work fly by. Maria and I are in the same room together for almost 8 hours a day with the kids, and we really don’t have to interact with many other people that much except for at the beginning and end of the day. Sooo, I’m really glad we have a shared love for Disney music and Christmas music or else the constant streaming of Lion King, Aladdin, and the Little Mermaid would get old fast.
Even though it’s Tuesday, I don’t want to forget about my weekend highlights post because it’s one of my favorites. I love looking back on it and being grateful for the much-needed time off.
These are some highlights from this past weekend.
On Friday night, I stayed home and went to sleep really early. Sounds lame, but it felt so good.
Not like I need another mug, but I couldn’t resist this one at Marshall’s with their great prices. I was born in Florida, but we moved to Nashville before I can even remember. However, growing up, I spent a ton of time visiting family in Florida, so I definitely miss South Florida a lot when I’m away for too long.
It was my good friend Chloe’s birthday, and on Saturday night she had a few couples go out to dinner at a Hibachi grill where they make the food right in front of you. There were flames. Lots of flames right in front of us. The chefs are so talented, tossing food and cooking tools in the air and doing all sorts of tricks with them. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s awesome. It was fun celebrating Chloe. She was one of my bridesmaids and was there for me all during the months before I got married to help me however she could. She’s great! Not to mention she also loves Lisa Frank.
On Sunday, after our Greek pasta salad lunch at home, John and I drove to Franklin to get my rings cleaned. We have to do it every 6 months to keep the warranty and time was almost up. They look so sparkly afterwards!
After we did that, we stopped by Starbucks to enjoy their buy-one-get-one-free deal on Holiday drinks.
Peppermint mochas, mmmmm. We sat outside for a little while and began planning a short trip to the mountains, and I am so excited for a getaway.
After we left Starbucks, I was on the lookout for new khaki pants for work. All of mine had holes in them, and whenever the kids at the preschool saw them, they’d say, “Amy have boo boo?” Nope, I just needed new pants. We looked all over Cool Springs Mall, and I couldn’t find khakis anywhere. We ended up finding them “right under our nose” as John put it. We headed home and stopped at Kohl’s super close to where we live. Of course I found two pair there, and we knew the employee who checked us out, so she gave us a coupon. Score.
Those are some of my favorites from this weekend. I hope you remember the good from your weekend without forgetting that there is still a lot to be thankful for during the week too. And if you’re finding that difficult, at least it’s almost Wednesday!
